Beautiful Saturday Morning

There is truly no place like home this morning.  Alice finished 7th grade yesterday so there is a sense of summer vacation around the house on top of the usual weekend off work feeling.  Just sitting on the front porch, I felt like I could be at the luckiest resort in the world.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend.

This very important know-how comes courtesy of the Easy How-To Book by Seymour Reit and illustrated by William Dugan.  I will pass along more whenever generosity strikes me...

Great Find

My prize find at this year's Shepherd Center book sale was a biology book that was illustrated by Charles Harper titled Learning with Colour Biology. I am in love with his work.  Look it up at

I love May

May is the month of fresh strawberry pie...

brave seed babies with pencil shaving mulch...

the joy of being able to paint out in the garden...

and best of is the month that honors mother's day!  Love, peace and grace to all mamas!

Staying Open

Here is one of my first garden harvests for the season.  Few things are quite as gratifying as harvesting.
