Together Again

These four beautiful women are (left to right) my great-aunt Betts, great-aunt Glad, great-aunt Kass, and my grandmother Reba (aka Debo).   I just got the news today that Kass joined her amazing sisters in heaven last night.  It is a lot to think about....

Strange but True

My husband gave me this old post card yesterday.  I am not sure if this painting is still around, but it was designed by Carroll and Ruby Eaton of Virginia City, Nevada.  The post card says that this painting was done in tribute to Virginia City's once great silver mining industry.  The Silver Queen's dress contains 3,261 silver dollars.  The belt alone contains 28 twenty dollar gold pieces.  The picture is 15 ft. high and 8 ft. wide.  It says that this is one of Nevada's most unusual casino displays.  This doesn't even take into account the green dress that woman is wearing!

A Couple

This was a little sketch I did for a project that ended up not being used.  I have always liked the end results of silhouettes.

Back in the Saddle!

Moving into the second week of the new year, I finally feel a bit settled and ready to get back to creating again.  I got my little painting station set up anew and restocked and have a canvas ready to paint as well as a commission piece that is well under way.  Asher has returned to his dry erase boards with a new breath as well.

Drink to the New Year

Like many, I have been trying to make some better choices about food for the start of the new year.  I  have been enjoying a great juice to start the day with that has done wonders for my ever-present brain fog.  I got the recipe out of Whole Living Magazine...

Press the pulp from 2 grapefruits, 5 carrots and 1 inch of peeled ginger into a juicer and enjoy!
